Fabscraps DT Layout Sweetie Pie

"Sweetie Pie"

This photo was a rare moment when my youngest DD was quiet and still, its also one of the very rare perfect photos I have of her. These papers from Fabscraps are just amazing to work with.

Chipboard left raw with just a hint of colour added to the edges.

Beautiful Prima flowers

Handmade flower from Scrappers Garden joined with more Prima flowers.

Little denim trim of a pair of paints my daughter wore around this age.

Again I have used the Baby Bear collection but this time in the creams & pinks

Instructions

- Use C57 003 as your background paper.

- Taking C57 004 I have cut a die cut shape out of the middle making sure not to damage any of the small pictures on the corners of the page, the cut piece is approx 9" and was just roughly drawn by hand. The edges were then distressed.

- Matt photo onto the plain area of C57 003 and distress the edges.

- Place your die cut paper down on the background followed by some cheese cloth and then the photo.

- Cut the chair, frame & teddy out of the corners on C57 004, each one has been lightly inked with a pink ink on the edges and foam dots placed on the back of each, Ives also added a small piece of string to the frame to give it the look of being hung. adding them to the page.

- Chipboard work Sweetie Pie DC57 008 was cut carefully into 2 pieces, and left mainly in its raw state with only the edges inked in mix'd media chiffon ink.

- adding some flowers from Prima, a trim from my daughters old pants and a paper doily inked with glimmer mist.

Fabscraps DT - Bundle of Joy

"Bundle of Joy"

I have used the Fabscraps Baby Bears 1 Collection

1- Using paper C57 008 cut the inside out leaving a border as thick as you would like, I've done mine approx 1/2", I have also not cut it straight making a kind of waving pattern, Distress and ink both the inside and outside of the border carefully so as to not break the paper.

2- Use C57 007 as your background paper, placing the C57 008 over the top, you may find you will need to cut a very small strip of 2 sides of this paper so it fits perfectly behind border paper.
Add some texture paste with a mask in the corners of this paper and lightly ink them when paint is ddry.

3- As this page is for a boy I have cut the bow of the baby in the pram on the chipboard word DC57 00, it has then been inked with distress ink and edges touched with a paint brush and gesso.

4- Cut a strip of paper from C57 008 from the bunny side, approx 1.5 rows of bunnies, use a border punch leaving a full row of bunnies visible, cut into 3 pieces, ink each piece along the punched edge and crush up the punch edge to give it some detail. Pop them under the edge of the C57 008 paper on the top and 2 sides of your page.

5- Cut the small rocking horse from MC57 009

6- Cut the matching trim from the ribbon sheet MC57 008 and crinkle it back and forward to create a ruffle border.

7- Take some leaves and flowers from MCDC58 006 - MCDC58 002 - MCDC58 and slightly wet them and crumple them up gently, unfold and let them dry, I have used a die-cutter to cut more petals out of C%& 008 and using the same wet, crumple method to create some more matching flowers, layer them how you would like and ink the edges.

8- Taking the journal tag from MC57 005 cut it in half, ink the edges and tug one half under the photo at the top and the other under the photo on the left side.

9- Using the small chipboard feet from DC57 012 ink and gesso them the same at the words.

9- I've added some hessian ribbon & loose threads along with some little roses, add your journal details.

"Angel"

This is a shadow frame I found at a Riot store it had a perspex from that I removed and is 6.5" x 4.5"

Starting with the raw frame I painted the entire thing in gesso, then using texture paste, a couple of masks and some glimmer mist I created a unique frame.

Memory Maze chipboard Angle word.

First I painted the word in gesso then applied a purple glitter embossing powder.

Memory Maze Chipboard flower vine. Comes in several pieces I didn't use them all on this project.

First I painted the chipboard with gathered twigs Distress stain from Tim Holtz, then I dipped the tips into a pva glue and then into flower soft.

Memory Maze chipboard butterfly.

I painted Lumiere paint in Burnt orange directly onto the chipboard, this paint has a metallic look then sprinkles it with glitter while it was still wet.

Memory Maze chipboard mushrooms in cluster and single.

Each of the mushrooms were painted in gesso them glimmer mist added with a paint brush in peach delight, bahama blue & timeless lilac, I used a heat gun to dry the pieces and continued to add colour and blend until it was to my liking, then i applied a coat of crackle paint to the mushrooms to give them more texture and a glossy look.

Some turquoise mesh and cheesecloth added to the bottom gives the look of a fairy tale.

Memory Maze chipboard wings.

I coated the wings in true snow roughly to give the look of feathers, I cut the ends of the wings that's why they are not covered in snow so they sat nicely together behind the photo.

A cluster of Prima flowers, with touches of gesso.

The background was painted in gesso and scenery created with gelatos spraying with water and smudging with my finger, I then used a tissue to remove some of the blue so it looked like clouds.

A couple of close ups of the frames texture and colour

I hope I have inspired you
